In 2013 we were very pleased to be accepted onto the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme, and we have been given Silver award status.
Throughout 2013 and 2014 we have nominated 10 young people and 1 leader award, who were successful for various good reasons in getting their awards and they have been presented with certificates, and badges receiving their Jack Petchey Foundation Achievement Award. They were all invited to a Jack Petchey Awards evening which took place at Harlow Playhouse in the early part of this year. Almost 2,000 schools, colleges and youth organisations throughout London and Essex run the scheme, which contributes millions of pounds each year. The scheme is a reward and recognition initiative which enables schools and youth organisations to celebrate the achievements of their young people as well as receive additional funding.
There are many different ways to nominate and select award winners. Our coaches help us use a system to nominate our young people to ensure our participants are at the heart of decision making.
Our community club has positively benefited from the generosity and inspiration of the Jack Petchey Foundation not just with the provision of resources for all pupils to use, but via the ongoing development of individual children and young people.
We support the JPF’s vision of a world where young people have high aspirations; the opportunity to develop their potential; the chance to be architects of their own future; to play a full part in society and to be valued and recognised for the positive things they achieve.
We congratulate our winners Anthony Fuller, Sara Kite, Katie Lucas, Jade Spowart ,Joe Brazier, and Rosa Huntingdon, Adam Goldspink-Burgess, Alex Perfitt and Connor Hardy-Grey, It was also a proud moment for Luke Lowe who received a much deserved Leader Award for his excellent volunteering work at all our events and Multi Sports mornings.
